Samsung announces the latest PCIe Gen 5 990 EVO SSD with 5000MB/s read speed.
The 990 EVO SSD, from Samsung Electronics America, is intended to improve common computing activities including photo/video editing, gaming, and work. Because of its adaptability and compatibility with both PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0 interfaces, this NVMe SSD may be used in a variety of systems.
The 990 EVO offers a 43% boost in performance over its predecessor. The SSD offers effective performance with sequential read and write speeds of up to 5,000 MB/s and 4,200 MB/s, respectively, in addition to improved random read and write capabilities.
With the use of Host Memory Buffer (HMB) technology, the SSD may optimize performance even in the absence of DRAM by connecting directly to the DRAM of the host CPU. When replacing a prior standard SSD, the 990 EVO promises faster access to huge files and better game loading times.
With a 70% increase in power economy over its predecessor, the 990 EVO increases the amount of time that computers or laptops may be used. Supporting Modern Standby guarantees that devices wake up from sleep quickly, even while using low power.
The heat spreader label on the SSD efficiently controls temperature, allowing for reliable high-level operations without sacrificing drive integrity.
In addition, it comes with a five-year Limited Warranty and supports Samsung Magician software, which streamlines SSD upgrades, data migration, security, drive health monitoring, and timely firmware updates.
